BREAKING NEWS!

SEVERAL TOWNS IN CAGAYAN AND ISABELA, FLOODED DUE TO THE SHEAR LINE

In Enrile, Cagayan, some farmlands are already submerged in floodwaters.

Several bridges are at risk of being submerged as the river water levels continue to rise.

In nearby towns such as Tuao and Piat, river water levels are also steadily increasing.

As a precautionary measure, the Cagayan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) has raised the Blue Alert or Bravo Protocol to prepare for the effects of continuous rains.

According to Ruelli Rapsing, Chief – PDRRMO Cagayan, “Our moderate to heavy rains started yesterday under a Yellow Rainfall Advisory, and as of this morning, we are already under an Orange Rainfall Advisory.”

Several towns in the province have suspended classes due to the adverse weather.

Most areas affected by flooding are low-lying municipalities near the Cagayan River, but no evacuations have been ordered so far.

In Ilagan, Isabela, some roads have been closed to traffic due to rising river levels.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rains were experienced earlier in Baguio, also due to the shear line.

According to DOST PAGASA, the shear line is expected to persist until the upcoming weekend.
