President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the country’s soldiers by providing additional allowances and strengthening their overall welfare.
This move recognizes their sacrifices and service in safeguarding national security.
As the Philippine Army continues to enhance its skills and capabilities in addressing security challenges across the archipelago, Army Commanding General Lieutenant General Roy Mabagos Galido assured that better equipment will be provided to military forces.
This is part of efforts to uphold the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“Our army has been the backbone of our nation’s security, evolving to meet new challenges. Today, we are challenged to accept game-changing missions that ensure a stronger, better, capable, and future-ready force,” Galido said.
Aside from new equipment, Galido emphasized the need for improved training, refined strategies, and better preparedness in military operations.
He also highlighted the army’s role in reducing the presence of communist and local terrorist groups, ensuring peace and stability within the country’s borders.
President Marcos underscored his administration’s commitment to addressing these needs, stressing that soldiers deserve proper recognition for their dedication.
He announced plans to increase their allowances, improve benefits, and provide stronger support.
“Beyond the battlefield are soldiers who, once again, showed that they are our first responders,” Marcos said.
The Philippine Army is the oldest and largest branch of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, comprising 11 divisions and specialized units deployed across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
