Amid the twinkling lights, designs, and the cool breeze, the Christmas spirit is truly in the air.

But before the yuletide season, this hotel made the season of giving truly meaningful.

This was seen in a dinner for a cause.

But, this was not just a simple gathering.

There was also a brief fashion show.

Here, scarves, hoodies, parkas, Christmas decorations, and more took center stage.

These items were hand-painted.

But did you know these were made by extraordinary individuals?

These are the works of those on the autism spectrum.

Because the beneficiaries of this benefit dinner are individuals on the autism spectrum.

This event is the result of support from Autism Hearts Philippines Incorporated under the Fashion Arts Autism Benefit (FAAB).

“We are committed to continue through the years, we are here, we’re not going anywhere. We lead them to achieve their highest potential, and they’re almost there,” said Dr. Erlinda Borromeo, Founder and Presdient of the Autism Hearts Philippines Inc.

The funds raised from the sale of these works and the benefit dinner will go towards art therapy for people on the autism spectrum.

“Please join us, enhances behavior management, while nurturing their talent. We want them to be seen for their abilities, not for their disabilities,” said Melissa Louise L. Sobrepeña, Board Director, Autism Hearts Philippines Inc.

Aside from the performances, everyone was touched when one of the beneficiaries spoke.

He is also one of the people behind the colorful tote bags and is now employed at the hotel.

Autism Hearts Philippines Inc. aims to recognize the abilities of individuals on the autism spectrum, not only in creating art but also in securing employment.

Because like us, they also seek acceptance, love, and support.
