Tabuk City Mayor catches COVID-19

Tabuk City Mayor Darwin Estrañero has contracted COVID-19.

Announcing over at the city’s facebook page, the city mayor informed that he tested positive on January 16, 2022.

Tabuk City is the capital of Kalinga province and the only city in the Cordillera region aside from Baguio City.

He said, he had fever, body pain, headache and oxygen desaturation on January 14, 2022, that prompted him to consult his my brother-in-law and his wife, both doctors-specialists in Tuguegarao City on January 15, 2022.

Afterwhich he was required to undergo the mandatory RT-PCR test morning January 16 because of the symptoms he showed
that time.

The city mayor admitted he was admitted due to mild pneumonia and for some additional medical tests due to my comorbidity (hypertension).

Since Monday however, Estrañero said he no longer have symptoms of the virus. “It’s a good thing that I am fully vaccinated, otherwise, my symptoms could have been much worse and my stay in the hospital could have been prolonged.”

The city mayor claimed he is feeling much better and will just have to complete the mandatory isolation of 7 days while continuing to discharge his duties as Tabuk City chief executive.
