THREE MEN, NABBED IN SEPARATE DRUG OPERATION IN NORTHERN LUZON

Three men were arrested in separate anti-drug operations conducted by law enforcement agencies in different parts of Northern Luzon on Tuesday, May 28.

In Aparri, Cagayan, authorities arrested a 45-year-old man, known by the alias “Jong,” during a buy-bust operation led by the Regional Special Enforcement Team of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 2, in coordination with the Aparri Municipal Police Station.

The operation took place at around 2:30 PM in Barangay Gaddang, where the suspect allegedly sold nearly 50 grams of suspected shabu to an undercover PDEA agent posing as a buyer.

The illegal drugs were valued at approximately 340,000 pesos.

Authorities also seized the marked money used in the transaction, along with the motorcycle believed to have been used during the sale.

In a separate operation in Barangay Talipapa, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, a 28-year-old man identified by the alias “Romy” was arrested after a buy-bust was carried out at his residence Tuesday evening.

The suspect yielded ten sachets of suspected shabu, with a total estimated weight of 10 grams and a street value of 68,000 pesos.

Police also confiscated the money and a cellphone allegedly used during the transaction.

Meanwhile, in Baguio City, a 33-year-old man was apprehended in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Burnham-Legarda after he sold suspected illegal drugs to a police officer acting as a buyer.

Recovered from the suspect were one sachet of suspected shabu weighing 1 gram and approximately 3 grams of dried marijuana leaves. Authorities estimate the total value of the confiscated drugs at over 7,000 pesos.

All three suspects will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
