Two residential houses were destroyed by fire in Upper Sadag, Barangay Bahong, late Monday afternoon, April 21, prompting an immediate response from the Bureau of Fire Protection.
Residents were alarmed by thick smoke and flames that had already reached the second floor of one house when authorities were alerted around 4:00 PM.
According to FO2 Jelaine Agustin of the La Trinidad Fire Station, the fire spread quickly due to the houses being made of light materials and built closely together. “The fire started in front of the bungalow house owned by Ma’am Awakan and later affected a nearby two-story house,” she said.
The fire was declared out by 5:20 PM.
No casualties or injuries were reported.
As of writing, investigators are still determining the cause and the extent of the damage.
The La Trinidad Fire Station recorded this incident as the town’s ninth fire case this year.
