UB Voices bag 2 golds in Thailand foray

The University of Baguio Voices had a successful stint in Bangkok, Thailand where they won two gold medals.

The UB Voices took top spots in medley and folklore in the A Voyage of Songs: International Choral Competitions, said musical director Glenn Gaerlan.

Gaerlan said that his musical ensembles took top honors in medley for their rendition of Elmo Makil’s Idemdem Makil, while their rendition of a George Hernandez arranged Ay Ay O Pag-ibig was a shoo in for the top place.

The ensembles later joined the Grand Prix for winning in the two categories.

It was months of preparation for the UB Voices including a series of concerts at UB to raise the funds for air transportation, hotel and food.
