UC COLLEGE OF LAW HOLDS TWO-DAY FREE LEGAL AID SERVICES

The University of Cordilleras (UC) College of Law conducts its Annual Legal Aid program, which offers free notarial services and free legal consultation and assistance, on March 20 and 21, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Malcolm Square, Baguio City.

According to the UC Law Barristers Club’s Chancellor, Mark Joseph Romero, their Legal Aid this year centers more on the concept of sharing, in line with its focal theme, “PINAGISUBLI,” which means to give back.

“With this, we guarantee that we can achieve the vision and mission of the university and, of course, the goal of our school. As we conduct this legal aid, we are actually promoting or taking part in promoting social justice and upholding the laws of the land.”, he added when asked about the purpose of conducting the said program.

Meanwhile, people from the community will benefit from the program as the mentioned services will help them become more aware of their issues and concerns and also on how to address their problems.

As mentioned by Romero, it will also be convenient for the public since they can inquire easily from the government agencies present during the program aside from the simple notary services and consultations the legal aid program offers.

This year, the UC College of Law is in collaboration with 11 government agencies, such as the Social Security System, the Philippine Statistics Authority, the Bureau of Internal Revenue, the Department of Labor and Employment, the Department of Migrant Workers, including PhilHealth, DENR, NBI, DSWD, DHSUD, and PAO.
