UC invites young woodpushers to 2nd Jaguars onlinechess tilt

The University of the Cordilleras – Sports Development Office (UC-SDO) will stage and invite anew Junior High School and Senior High School students, both boys and girls, to join the 2nd Jaguars Online Chess Tournament on July 10.

UC-SDC director Danilo Cong-o said that players from the Cordillera Administrative Region as well as from Regions 1, 2, and can join the two day 14-round tournament over Lichess.

The registration free tournament offers cash prizes to the top 10 players from each division and will get e-certificates as well.

To join, a player must create his Lichess account after downloading the app from the website of Lichess, then click or scan the QR Code to Register at https:/tinyurl.com/2ndUCOnlineChessTournament.

Once registered, now the player click the link to join the Team or Lichess and go to one’s assigned tournament room, one for girls and one for boys.

Once entered in the tournament, the player can check his/her messages/message requests for updates on the group chat (2nd UC Jaguars Online Chess Tournament) regarding the tournament.

Last May 6, Baguio City High School top player and the city’s top kiddie player Wycliffe Aromin and Darlene Dannog of the Apayao Science High School topped their respective divisions to be named UC Masters in the 1st Jaguars Online Chess Tournament.

The top 10 finishers received cash prizes courtesy of UC.

Some 50 players joined the tournament including one each from Ilocos Sur and Cagayan Valley.
