Colorful works of art, products, performances and more, these are the traditional celebrations of the annual Ibagiw Festival of Baguio City, a unique festival showcasing various arts that bring life to the city.
In its 7th year, there’s a lot to look forward to. One of these is the involvement of the youth in valuing the arts.
Mendeko Kito will also be featured, aiming to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) showcasing products made by local artists.
Additionally, for the first time, Baguio City will host the World Ikat Textiles Symposium, an international event that honors the various traditions of Ikat or fabric dyeing and weaving, reflecting the different cultures across the country.
The Ibagiw Festival is a celebration of the recognition given by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to Baguio City as the first Creative City in the Philippines in 2017.
This year’s 7th Ibagiw Festival theme is ‘Inquisitive. Disruptive. Creative.’
