Through heartfelt storytelling, with energetic movements and music, the youth of Pugo displayed their talent in dancing.

This was during the Tinungbo Festival Grand Street Dancing Parade in Pugo, La Union.

The participants, coming from four schools in the town, paraded on the streets wearing colorful costumes and carrying props.

The performances were eagerly anticipated by the residents.

“Actually, it’s fun. It’s a stress reliever. I even took a leave from work just to watch this,” said Gilbert Faustino.

Upon reaching the municipal grounds, the participants elevated their performances.

Everyone awaited the performance of the Hall of Famer, Pugo Catholic School.

Their presentation highlighted the blessings of nature and the strong faith of the people of Pugo.

Meanwhile, the simple life in the town of Pugo was depicted by another school.

Their props were enormous and butterfly-shaped, and they also highlighted quail eggs, from which the town’s name originates.

Other participants delivered messages emphasizing a love for family and the significance of Tinungbo-making.

All these performances were thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.

“It’s so much fun. This annual event brings people joy and helps them forget their problems,” said Renda, a resident.

Mayor Kurt Walter Martin expresses, “This is very important because, without unity, there’s no progress. Unity is the secret to the advancement of any town. All the achievements of the municipality are due to the unity of every Pugo resident.”

In the end, Pugo Central National High School was declared 3rd Runner-Up.

Saitan Integrated School claimed 2nd Runner-Up, while San Luis National High School took 1st Runner-Up.

For the first time, Cuenca National High School won the championship.

“It’s very emotional because, for the past five years, this is our sixth year, and it’s only now that we’ve made it. We’re so, so happy,” said Jimmy Biba, Teacher, Cuenca National High School.

Pugo Catholic School was also honored as a Hall of Famer after winning the competition for five consecutive years.

As the Tinungbo Festival in the town of Pugo concludes, the hope remains that unity among the Pugo residents will continue, not just around the dining table, but also in their hearts and minds.
