VIBRANT CULTURE, HISTORY OF BARANGAY SALUD MITRA, TAKE CENTER STAGE IN THEIR NEW MURAL

BY: JOSE ROBERT INVENTOR

This school wall in Barangay Salud Mitra used to be just another structure people passed by.

But after a few months, this is what it looks like now.

The mural’s design focuses on the history of the barangay, which was once known as “Jungletown.”

It also highlights the rich culture of Anido and traditional dances.

This is now the 44th mural unveiled in Baguio City.

The painting was led by the Sinagi Group of Artists, under the leadership of Councilor Leandro B. Yangot Jr., in partnership with the barangay.

Residents were delighted with the new artwork.

Aside from murals, young artists are also honing their skills through free art lessons held every weekend at the Athletic Bowl in Baguio City.
