As the agency that provides support and assistance during disasters, the DSWD Field Office 1 includes checking on their warehouses in the region from time to time.
Last December 18, DSWD’s National Audit Team led by Central Office Internal Audit Service Director Atty. Marijoy D. Segui visited Region 1’s warehouses in La Union, Pangasinan, Ilocos Sur, and Ilocos Norte.
Because the field office prioritized the decency of the said warehouses, it was noted how clean and orderly the Food and Non-Food Items were.
Everything was wrapped with plastics to protect the items from dirt and any form of destruction. Labels were also in every stockpile with their expiration dates.
The field’s office tracking system was also applauded.
On the other hand, satellite warehouses were recommended to still implement strict monitoring with the releases and protection of Food and Non-food Items to prevent contamination.
But despite all the good feedback already from the audit team of DSWD for Field Office 1, FO1 still assures that they will again do their best as 2024 kicks in.
