Around 4 PM yesterday, February 6, 25-year-old Chavelita noticed a strong burning smell while resting in her room.
When she went to check, she was met with thick smoke at the back of their house.
Within minutes, the fire spread due to the stored firewood in their warehouse.
Neighbors were also alerted and immediately helped extinguish the fire.
Some residents suspect that a discarded cigarette butt may have started the fire, but the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has yet to confirm this as further investigation is underway.
According to the initial investigation, the fire caused an estimated 3,000 pesos in damages.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
