WATER GALLONS, STOLEN IN BAGUIO CITY CAUGHT ON CCTV

BY: ANGELICA ARQUERO

In a rather unusual theft incident, a group of three individuals was caught on CCTV stealing six gallons of mineral water from a residence along Ferguson Road in Barangay Campo Filipino on the evening of April 8.

The footage showed a woman climbing the stairs of a house and peeking through a window, seemingly checking if anyone was inside.

Upon noticing that the house was empty, she left. Minutes later, she returned with two male accomplices and was later seen helping carry away six gallons of water placed outside the home.

The homeowner, identified only as Shyler, said they heard footsteps and some noise outside.

When they checked, the water containers were gone.

“We heard someone walking on the stairs and then a sound like something was being carried. When we looked, the gallons were gone,” Shyler said.

He added that their home had previously been targeted by thieves, losing shoes and items from their car, prompting him to install security cameras.

“If they only took one gallon, we might have understood, maybe they were in need. But six? It seems like this isn’t the first time they’ve done this,” he said.

A neighbor, Susan Santos, also expressed concern. She recalled that her home had been broken into before, and her cellphone was stolen.

“This is really troubling. These things are used by fellow Filipinos. We shouldn’t be stealing them,” she said.

Barangay Kagawad Marvin Arzadon responded after a social media post about the theft circulated.

He noted that many residents leave their gates unlocked, making them easy targets.

“We often see open gates when we patrol the area. People should take extra care, especially at night,” Arzadon said, urging residents to report suspicious activity immediately.

The suspects remain at large as barangay authorities continue regular patrols in hopes of preventing further incidents.
