Teachers serve as second parents to every student in school.
Despite the challenges and trials that life brings, they continue to be the light of knowledge.
This includes being resourceful in teaching, preparing lesson plans, creating exams, and ensuring that all students are keeping up with the lessons.
Beyond teaching, teachers in the Philippines also play a significant role.
They also serve as electoral boards during elections, oversee various board exams, and many more.
Today, we celebrate National Teachers Day.
This is to recognize their immense contribution to our society and to shaping the youth.
This celebration began on October 5, 1994, following a proclamation by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization or UNESCO.
They designated October 5 as World Teachers’ Day to honor all teachers around the world.
Here in the Philippines, the celebration of National Teachers Day is not just a one-day event.
It extends throughout the first week of October, with Teachers Day being the highlight.
In recognition, various schools, local governments, and organizations conduct different activities during National Teachers Day.
But even when it’s not Teachers Day, we can still show our appreciation for them every day.
