A 55-year-old woman ended up in the detention cell of Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Station 9 after she cut off the genitals of her 58-year-old husband.
The suspect expressed, “I guess, Sir, I was completely fed up, I regret it, but it’s too late now.”
According to the police, the incident occurred at 2:30 in the afternoon last Saturday, July 6, at their home in Purok 9, Balenben, Barangay Irisan, Baguio City.
BCPO spokesperson PMaj. Harriet Bulcio, explained, “They were in the middle of intercourse when the suspect grabbed her husband’s genitals and cut them off with a knife she had already planned to use.”
After the incident, the victim sought help and was rushed to the hospital, while the suspect left the house to calm herself.
The suspect claimed she acted out of frustration due to her husband’s frequent abuse and infidelity.
“He rarely visited me, didn’t give me money, and I found out he was seeing other women in Dagupan, Pangasinan. Whenever I confronted him, he would beat me and throw my clothes out,” she said.
The victim reportedly had a history of domestic violence against his wife, but the suspect struggled to file an adultery case due to lack of evidence.
“He knows he’s guilty. He shouldn’t deny it. He shouldn’t spread lies from his mouth that he didn’t do anything. It’s obvious from what I’ve seen,” the suspect added.
Doctors attempted to reattach the severed part but were unsuccessful. The knife used in the incident was recovered at the crime scene, and the suspect voluntarily surrendered to the police.
“Sorry for what I did, but we can’t be together anymore. We’ve reached this point and it’s over,” she said.
The BCPO encourages victims of abuse or adultery to file cases to prevent such violent incidents.
The suspect is facing charges under Article 262 for Mutilation in the Revised Penal Code and is awaiting a commitment order to be transferred to Baguio City Jail Female Dorm.
