This coming weekend, the flower floats for the Panagbenga Festival’s Grand Float Parade will once again bring color and joy to the city of Baguio.
Back-to-back parades will greet residents and tourists.
Among them is the stunning display of participants in the Grand Street Dance Competition.
But one week before the parade, the floatmakers in the City of Pines are already hard at work.
The metal works are coming from both sides.
Carefully, one by one, various flowers are placed into floral foam.
Some of these flowers were even imported from different towns in Benguet.
This is what the group led by Denver is busy with now.
However, it’s a big challenge for the floatmakers right now.
The afternoon rainstorms are a constant issue.
According to PAGASA, the rain experienced in the afternoons and evenings is due to the strengthening of the easterlies or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
This could persist through the weekend.
This year, about 40 floats are expected to parade along Session Road, promising an exciting and joyful experience for viewers.
