Veteran Jared Almazan will banner a 10-fight card at the breast of the highest peak in northern Luzon during the Bindiyan Festival this weekend.
The veteran of Japanese campaigns will face Reden Manguiat of Batangas City in the main event of the “Kabayan Fury 1” Team Lakay Championship this Saturday at the open gym of Poblacion, Kabayan, Benguet.
The Shooto veteran hopes to get his first win in five professional matches, with his last outing on Jan. 26, 2020, in a losing effort to Tatsuro Taira in a technical knockout at 0:19 of the second round.
Manguiat, meanwhile, hopes to bounce back from a loss in Muay Thai to Jervin Tuason on September 10 last year. The Bantagueño debuted on March 25, 2017, by beating Fredie Navarro with a head kick ten seconds after the bell rang.
Bulakenyo Jade Semacio, meanwhile, hopes to preserve Philippine pride when he faces Nahuel Gandolfi of Argentina.
Another foreigner who will be seeing action in the event backed by Kabayan Mayor JUNJUN Bantales is Dutch Joris Jonker who will go toe to toe with Negros Occidental native Artie Lee Cajolo.
Ilocos Sur pride Aaron Posawen will be facing Trinidad boy Roy Menzi. The lone female bout will feature Grace Carluen of Laguna facing Catherine Soria of Pasig City.
Ralph Cervantes of La Trinidad is scheduled to meet Abreno Elvester Gaspar, while Jay-ar Malannag, also from La Trinidad, will have Mountain Province native Denver Songaben as his opponent.
The event will also have as an undercard Chad Mayos (Kapangan) going up against Ezekiel Montezon of Olongapo, Baguio’s Lecko Gamonnac against John Ira Barrientos of La Union, and Conan dela Pena of Mountain Province in a match against Duane Pascua of Pangasinan.
