LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Genesis Libranza is set to face Phumelela Cafu for the vacant International Boxing Federation International junior bantamweight belt on August 20 in East London, South Africa.
“Handa na ako (I’m ready),” said Libranza during sparring at the Highland Boxing Gym here Friday.
“We have been preparing fir this and we see he has no advantage over us,” said Libranza, who totes a 20-2 win-loss record with 12 wins coming by way of knock out.
Libranza is coming off from a loss last March 30 to Moruti Mthalane that ended an 11 fight win streak that started in 2014 according to Box Rec.
Cafu, meanwhile, is going for his 12th fight and has won eight of his fights, seven of which via knockout. He has no loss but has three draws in his previous 11 fights.
