PHP2.1 B damages to roads, bridges and flood controls due to Egay

Total damages to roads, bridges and flood controls in the Cordillera due to super typhoon Egay has reached PHP2.1 billion, the Department of Public Works Highway Cordillera reported.

DPWH -Cordillera director Khadaffy Tanggol said that damages to roads in the region’s 12 engineering districts run to more than PHP 626.4 million.somo bridges, one each from Abra and Mountain Province have been destroyed which is PhP2.35 million.

Some six flood control in Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Kalinga and Mountain Province were damaged by typhoon Egay which Tunggal said would cost PHP1.8 billion.

He said that the agency will need PHP3.4 billion to fix the damaged roads, bridges and flood control.

He added that 10 roadlines are still closes where some sections are impassable.

Some portions of the road lines were recently cleared but are now one way.

Three road lines are now closed in Apayao, one in Kalinga and four in Mountain Province, said Tanggol.
