From Baguio to Dagupan: Sketsa na Dagupan joined the Pangasine 2024

The Pangasine 2024 was formally opened on April 6, 2024 at the Sison Auditorium in Lingayen, Pangasinan. The province Information and Media Relations Officer, Dhobie De Guzman reported that there were 170 aspiring local filmmakers that have attended the free filmmaking workshop entitled, Hulmaan sa Pelikula that offered cinematography, directing, documentary production, editing and writing lessons.

One of the film that is showcased at the festival is the remarkable documentary film, “Sketsa sa Dagupan” which was just premiered in the recently concluded Montañosa Film Festival in Baguio City, Charlemagne Christian Ramoso, Director of the film, is excited to bring it to the hometown of our national artist, Victorio Candido Edades.

The documentary focuses on two passionate visual artists in Dagupan, exploring different art spaces and community support to produce their artistic expressions despite the perception of a flourishing creative movement in the hometown of Edades.

The film exhibition entitled, Sine by the Sea, was held last April 6-8, 2024 from 6-8 PM at the Capitol Beachfront Lingayen. Given that this is the first year of the festival, this is also a step forward for the pursuit to establish the province as a leading creative hub in the Philippines. | Princess Lhura Jesusa Payumo
