Lobonnan, 7 athletes, DepEd sports officials commended during Yap Cup opening

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Eight young athletes and six sports officials from the Department of Education were given commendations by Benguet Rep. Eric Yap during the opening ceremonies of the Benguet Eric Go Yap Congressional Cup at the Benguet State University Saturday, September 16.

Taekwondo poomsae double gold medalist Trisha Lobonnan leads the athletes in the simple awards of certificates to the medal winners in the Oalaring Pambansa held in Marikina with the National Capital Region as overall winner of the recently resumed annual competitions.

Lobbonan is joined by fellow gold winners wushu players Gerwin Lete and Ryan Joe Bestre and paraathletes Noel Laoyan (200 meter dash), Alpha Ruth Cosisi and Rovic Dulagan, both in bocce.

Also given citations are Theasalonico Hayabon, silver in discuss throw, and Kirk Karrie Rillera, bronze in wushu.

DepEd sports officials cited are division sports officer Ceasar Luma-ang, Lorna Yaco and coaches Nardo Alba, Joy Madallang, Dave Espilembergo and Jose Aclinen.

The athletes also received also cash from Rep. Yap.

The 14 teams from the 13 municipalities started their games which will have its elimination round and the playoffs on November. Pigeon Lobien
