This year, the Cordilleran Administrative Region Athletic Association Meet is set to welcome between 6,000 to 8,000 delegates to the province of Apayao. This includes athletes from elementary and high schools, alongside teachers, coaches, trainers, technical officials, and other personnel from various DepEd regional and division offices.
Hosting the event for the third time, the Apayao local government, under the leadership of Governor Elias Bulut Jr., has diligently prepared not only the venues and accommodations for the participants but also showcased their tourist attractions to visitors.
Governor Bulut has voiced his hopes for the CARAA meet, emphasizing the importance of fair competition and sportsmanship while encouraging athletes to draw strength from the local community’s support to bring home medals for the province. Following Baguio, Apayao aims to uphold or improve its overall standings in the meet.
In a bid to rally the support of Apayao residents, Bulut extends an invitation for them to witness the games and cheer on their local athletes as they demonstrate their skills on home ground.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for April 15, 2024, with the distinguished presence expected from Vice President Sara Duterte. The meet will run until April 19, 2024, at the Apayao Eco Tourism and Sports Complex (AETSC), with live coverage available on the provincial government of Apayaoโs official Facebook page. |
