Celebrating Culinary Heritage: Cordillera’s Annual Mangan Taku! Festival Returns to Honor Filipino Food Month

BAGUIO CITY— With this year’s theme, “Kalutong Filipino, Lakas ng Kabataang Makabago,” the Department of Tourism – Cordillera Administrative Region Office has officially announced the return of the annual celebration of Mangan Taku! This event marks the region’s participation in Filipino Food Month festivities. The showcase of diverse cuisines and wines will run from April 24 to 29, 2024, at the Rose Garden in Burnham Park.

Moreover, the department has opened applications for the cookfest and mixology competitions, welcoming amateur cooks, chefs, and skilled drink mixers. Both competitions aim to highlight the traditional yet innovative culinary and wine craftsmanship of the region. The submission deadline is up until April 17, 2024.

Mangan Taku! serves as a tribute to the abundant culture and culinary appreciation of Filipinos. The DOT-CAR invites the public to delve into the region’s vibrant culture and flavorful traditions as we celebrate this national festivity. | Princess Lhura Jesusa Payumo
